"Wash Your Hands" is an interactive and socially-distant performance piece created in Max/MSP.

A woman returns home after a disappointing day lacking social interaction and discovers that her computer wants to interact with her -- as long as she is clean.

Through the use of sound bytes from various adaptations of Macbeth and retellings of Pontius Pilate's trial of Jesus, we investigate the messy history of cleansing and cleanliness.

Though the world of technology seems sterile and safe enough, what dirt can be revealed beneath the all-seeing eye of our computational surveillance?
